After over 30 years, Jürgen Dannewald retired at the end of April 2014. Of course, a place is not abandoned in such a good location with a lot of running and regular guests. The type of house should therefore be preserved. A new managing director has reopened the beer egg after a refurbishment phase. When shopping in the city center, I visited the beer island irregularly but repeatedly. Above all, I always drank Sünner Kölsch. This relatively herb is brewed in lime. The company has a long tradition in Cologne. I don't like this beer so badly. It reminds of Pils – perhaps only Gaffel Kölsch is similar. The other Kölsch brands have much milder notes such as early Kölsch, Reissdorf Kölsch or also Malzmühlen Kölsch and Päffgen Kölsch. The term “Kölsch” is protected by law (other than the beer from Düsseldorf, which can be brewed everywhere. For example, it must not be natural. The exact definition of the taste is a bright, bare (filtered and mountainous whole beer with an average stem wort of 11.3 and an alcohol content of an average of 4.8 . The Wicküler Brauerei in Wuppertal had to learn how strict this is. She called a beer Küppers Kölsch and was quickly mashed. She then circumvented the problem and broke the beer in Cologne. It was all right. Today, however, the name Küppers belongs to the portfolio of the Oetker Group. In the subdivision “Haus Kölscher Brautradition, among others, the brands are held: Gilden Kölsch, Küppers Kölsch, Kurfürsten Kölsch, Sester Kölsch, Peters Kölsch, Sion Kölsch and Dom Kölsch. Sanitation There was also quite an order. The men's department in some brewhouses looks terrible, because customers pay little attention to cleanliness. The best thing seems to be solved in the malt mill: here there are toilet personnel. Service Even with great urge the waiters were friendly. There was no room for big conversation. The time of the “original” baskets (Köbes is the name for the waiter in Cologne: blue apron made of linen with a leather strapped wallet, however, is also covered in extinction in Cologne; for it he would not only have to bring mercenaries, but also speak and have “more enjoyable” sayings in stock (for example, in the horror chamber they still exist, in my opinion, the card everything that can be expected in a brewhouse (big meat, roasted potatoes, schnitzel, etc., there are here – and just the really extensive mussel card with many variations. Eating On that day I ate a bacon pancake and he was okay. I don't expect a loving kitchen, but a basis for the carol. The proportion of the bacon was right. The eggcake was really seasoned. The size was reasonable and satisfies me. Beverages Who wants to order wine in a wooden brewhouse or have a glass of milk has misunderstood anything. There's beer here, it's Kölsch. And that tastes good. The price of € 1.80 for a 0.2l glass is already a house number in this house (but also the competitors usually take € 1.70 . A very good evening. Careful operation, great food, we will definitely come back.... Our glasses were always well filled, we got the card directly, the food came fast, payment went fixed. We had six dishes, it didn't take long, everything was right. The food was plentiful, the roast potatoes a poem, sülze, chop steak, curry sausage and sour roast very tasty. We were more than satisfied with the food. During the next trip to Cologne we know where we will eat again.
We could sit out very nicely. The operation was good and very attentive, the glass was always well filled. We also ordered food. That came very fast and was really delicious. It tasted really good for everyone. I'd go here.
