The ambience is very rustic with qppden walls and chairs. Gives a really good feeling. The place wasn't crowded for a weekend. The staff were very friendly showing us their array of live crabs, prawns, lobsters and fish. The food is very good. One of the best seafood places in Colombo. I must say that its at par with Ministry of Crabs (another famous seafood place in Colombo). I felt that the cost was almost similar to Ministry of Crabs when it comes to live crabs. Must try the Crab and prawn starters. They are good. The lives ones are pretty delicious.
Seafood priced fairly. We chose our own crabs and the dishes were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommending grilled prawns and Lankan style curry with crabs. Biriyani with shrimp was also a highlight. Staff were friendly with great and prompt services. Loving the causal dining environment with relaxing sea breeze.
The crab curry was nice. It went well with the bread. The restaurant is situated upstairs. Even though the atmosphere is casual dining, it’s pricey. The Prawn toast was delicious. Sadly the cuttlefish was way too crunchy and didn’t taste good. Our bill was over 15K for two so better make a note of the weight of the crab and the size ; small, medium or large. Friendly staff.
A place i liked a lot today looks worst than a dumped yard. No menu foid other than a 3 main dishes abd baked crab. I understand they have had a major electricity burst and the restaurant has no running water nor even drinking water. We had to request bottle water to be brought from out aa cannot have sri lankan murunga curry crab without drinking water. But an improved sign was the INCREASE OF PRICES IN THE 4 AVAILABLE DISHES BY MORE THAN 50% but the dishes were very basic. Not even lime slices or a bit if greens to go with the baked crab
Absolutely disheartening to see this place so run down went for dinner, there were a couple of lights on, but no one seemed to be around. Waited about 10 minutes and then left. Once upon a time a wonderful eatery, the crab and prawns as good as the fare in the best of restaurants (yes, like the Ministry of Crab), now a total disappointment. They'd best close it down completely, rather than allow for negative criticism to pile up.
