My wife described the food as corporate. If that means safe, uncreative and unmemorable, relatively expensive, but in lovely setting (with spectacular view,) that is correct. It was a passable meal at a premium price; I was disappointed. Eat at the Truffle Pigs Bistro in Field instead
We were staying Field and were anxious to enjoy a nice meal at Emerald Lake Lodge. It took us awhile to find the dining room--signing was pretty minimal--but we finally got there. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Then we waited! First our server came with one menu (there were three of us.) She said she'd try to find some more menus. Then she came back with one more. By this time, we asked if she had a wine list, and she did find one of those. We had to ask for water. Later we found out that they were under a "boil water" advisory but that was not mentioned at all. Each of us ordered a different meal (sharing the menus) but all of us received lukewarm dishes.None of the meals were particularly tasty, especially considering the cost (38-40 Canadian for each meal.) Save your money--this place is not worth it except for the view.
Service was good (our waiter James was excellent,) but the food was just OK and over-priced - unsurprising given captive audience! If you have access to a car i would highly recommend a trip into Field to dine at Truffle Pigs - a far far far superior food offering. The restaurant is also baking hot which doesn't make for the most enjoyable dining experience. View is good if you get one of the lake facing tables.
Food was marginal at best. Wine prices were absurd (captive audience) Service was spotty. Breakfast was an ordeal: took 10 minutes just to be seated, and then waited 30 minutes for order.
