Every one of the staff at Top of Carolina went out of their way to make us feel wanted special, even the greeting in the Capstone House foyer was friendly! The food? As usual, it was superb, with everything available from traditional breakfast fare, through cold meats, cheeses salads to hot lunch items there is a carvery even an omelette station. Then we come to the piece de resistance the dessert table! I'm not sure how the dessert chef manages to come up with so many cake, pastry, hot pudding, cold pudding etc ideas (there must be at least 20 different selections), but she does an absolutely amazing job each week this week we even had a delicious crême brulée. And, whilst savouring all of this, everybody has an unobstructed view of the city and its surrounding area! Thank you! This is by far not just the best Sunday brunch for a 100 mile radius, it is also the best value Sunday brunch in that radius! We will be back ... soon
I have dietary restrictions. Whenever I asked some questions about ingredients, each of the servers gave different and opposite answers. One says no meet inside of shrimp soup, I (myself) figured out there is and later the other server says it does have. I really don't know how they answer if they have no knowledge!!! Stay away this place unless you are the one eat whatever you find.
We celebrated a 40th anniversary on Sunday, and every one of us loved it. There's a fabulous selection of food to choose from, and the service was very good. We hope to join you again sometime next year.
The day was miserable, it was raining pretty heavily cold to boot, but, once inside Capstone House, our whole demenour changed. We were met by a cheery hostess at the ground floor entrance, an even cheerier hostess in the restaurant itself ... and the friendly, helpful service continued from there on; our waitress couldn 't have been more helpful accommodating! The food selection was, as usual, varied; for starters, I sampled the breakfast sausages, smoked salmon capers, antipasto salad South Carolina potato salad, all of which were delicious. For my main course, I was spoiled for choice, so I pigged out on roast duck with braised red cabbage roasted rib eye with horseradish, accompanied by asparagus spears baby carrots ... so delicious, I took a second small helping! I cannot comment on the bouillibaisse or shrimp grits, the other entrée selections offered that day, but suffice to say, they both looked delicious! Then came the dessert table ... what a wonderful selection! I wanted one of everything, but I fear I would have done a pretty good reenactment of 'The meaning of life ' if I had done that, the variety was so impressive! Needless to say, even though the view through the mist rain wasn 't great, the meal experience itself was, as usual, perfect there is simply no Sunday brunch within 100 miles that can hold a candle to it, we will be back ... soon!
