Slim Chickens - Columbia

The chicken was tough and chewy. It did not taste fresh despite what they advertise. The chicken tenders were also tough and the outer coating was too hard. Even though I spent $28 on takeout, I will not be spending money on inedible food again.

This restaurant exuded a sense of corporate soullessness. Despite the friendly workers, I couldn't help feeling sorry for them being stuck in such a manufactured environment. My chicken sandwich was disappointingly flat and rubbery, resembling something unappetizing. My sister also found the wings to be off-putting. However, the tenders and fries were enjoyable, and the chicken was similar to what you would find at Zaxby's. I only gave the food two stars because I had to steal one of my dad's tenders to salvage my sandwich after discarding the rubbery mess.

The food was tasty, but the price for chicken wings was unreasonable. I ordered a 5-piece chicken tender meal, a small serving of mac and cheese, and two separate orders of just 6 chicken wings each, and my total came to $36.

I've been here several times to dine with my family. The staff is friendly, food quality is good, the price is reasonable and the service was quick. I usually accumulate points rewards through the app. 4 stars because I feel the food temperature could be a little hotter.

I don't know if it was under staffed or if the staff is poorly trained with low expectations but there is nothing that front-of-store did to instill confidence that the kitchen or food was safe. We dined there on a Friday and the sanitizer bucket, for example, was marked as last cleaned on Wednesday. The food was brought to our table slowly. We asked for dressing for our salad several times including when the order was placed and finally had to fetch it ourselves after waiting for ten minutes.
