Zorba's Greek - Columbia

This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating available in three dining rooms. Staff is courteous and helpful. Lots to choose from on the menu. We loved the Hawaiian pizza. It was delicious and loaded with fresh cheese, pineapple and ham. Our server was very attentive and always smiling. Restaurant was clean, but bathroom needed better cleaning but was stocked. Plenty of parking available.

We had not been here in years and wanted to give it a try again. Generous portions but Lacking salt and flavor (even the bread was doughy and no flavor). Everything needs to be repainted, deep cleaned and updated.

I have went on two different occasions. The first time I had the gyro and the lemon cake. Both we're very delicious. That Kate slice took up the whole tray and only cost $7. The second time I hey I got the steak skewer, great potatoes and Greek salad. The steak had absolutely no flavor. I ordered an extra Greek dressing just to pour over it. The cabals were cooked to perfection medium rare just had no flavor. The potatoes barely had flavor. The salad was very good and the chicken wings were very good also.

So the last time I ate at a Zorbas in Columbia South Carolina was over 30 years ago and I can say the two double 10oz pork chops are still outstanding but the mushrooms soup was horrible. It came out cold,; we then sent it back but heating it up did not improve the flavor or the fact it was beyond bland. The spaghetti was delicious and do was the dessert. Service was okay, kind of slow but not to bad

I have not eaten at Zorbas in the Irmo area for about 15 years. The main reason, Grecian Gardens was closer and had great moussaka. Well GG stopped making moussaka about 2 years ago and I just found out that Zorbas makes it. I put in an order for lunch today and quickly brought it back home. Zorbas really went out their way for a fantastic meal. Not only was it fantastic moussaka but they included extra sauce for more topping. Every package I ordered was wrapped perfectly in a white paper bag which really showed they cared. In addition their salads which were so good, I am still raving about their grape leaves filled and rolled, then covered with an out of this world lemon sauce!!! I will be back. Btw, their lunch special showed a leg of lamb for a little over $10, wow!!!
