Great burgers! Friendly service. Big menu with lot's to choose, from burgers, steak sandwiches, salads, etc. A hole in the wall with thick, hearty burgers. We'd go back again when we're passing through.
I saw the reviews, and I really wanted to like this place. But, nope! What I do, that others may not do, is was the prep area while my food is being made. So, to begin with, when I walked in the place smelled like a metallic blood scent that someone had tried to bleach away. You know, the kind of scent that makes you inhale deeply the second time to be sure you smelled what you thought you smelled. That should have been my clue to walk back out, but with the benefit of doubt, I ordered anyway. Here is where my experience will cause me to NEVER eat there again. The man who expedites the orders at the window prep station, behind the counter, had on black gloves. With his left hand, he scratched his face over his jaw. With his other gloved hand, he then grabbed his shirt and wiped the side of his nose. He never changed his gloves. Then he took his left arm and wiped sweat from his forehead. I'm okay with that, except my eagle eyes saw sweat drop from his forehead. Did I mention no hairnet to be seen? Okay. But, let's go with the thing that pushed me over the edge. He coughed. Did not cover his mouth or turn his head. Just an open mouth cough, and kept right on slicing up what he was working on. Then without changing those gloves with all the nastiness of face and shirt handling on them, he proceeded to build and wrap my burger. I did not eat it. The fries were ugh. It's the after taste for me. That and the old grease look of them. So, no I will not be going back to Lulu's for anything. And my advice to everyone. Watch the prep areas when you order your food.
Lulus is defiantly not what it once was. Lulus used to be a very friendly and welcoming place to take your kids but the last couple of times were not. it used to be one of our favorite restaurants to go to bit not anymore. Window service is horrible. first they left us sitting at the window for almost 15 minutes and never came over addressed us or anything. our order was a call in to go. and then the girl that came to the window acted like she had 0 clue that we had not called ahead or that we had not been helped when she kept looking at us waiting through the window. both girls looked bored and like they did not want to be there. they put the food in the bag upside down and sideways so as not to use a 2nd bag. and they kept rolling their eyes at me. they messed up on the food and then blamed us for not saying something on the phone which i did and thats why i opened the boxes to check because my daughter cant eat certain things. Lulus please put different people at the window and make it friendly again
I don't know what happened, Lulu's use to be our preferred burger place in Commerce. Not after tonight. We ordered a Burger Combo, Fried Chicken Sandwich Combo and a salad. My husband's drink was wrong, his Tots were a little burned and my daughter's Chicken was burned and dry. It's so sad?
