Afton Pub Pizza - Concord

The atmosphere was quite pleasant, with a cozy, intimate bar vibe. The service was exceptional. I ordered the lasagna, which was served hot and in a suitable portion size for one. It was nicely presented and reasonably priced; however, the taste did not quite meet my expectations. There wasn't enough tomato-based meat sauce, and the three layers didn't stand out as distinctly as I hoped. I would recommend Afton Pub for a nice evening drink and perhaps to try another dish, but I can't recommend the lasagna.

I had a server named Sam who was a really nice guy, but he wasn't very attentive. We had to ask for him every time we needed something. We waited at least 15 minutes for him to take our order, even though he passed by a few times. He's a great person, but I think he could use some improvement in attentiveness.

Our experience was highlighted by our waiter, Jon, who was incredibly helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the standout item from our meal turned out to be the french fries. We did receive a partial refund for our meal, which was appreciated. The Italian nachos had great potential with a generous portion size, but the chips were so greasy that I couldn't finish them. The same issue arose with the eggplant fries. On a positive note, the kaboom sauce was excellent, and the draft beers tasted great. As we were leaving, we noticed some diners enjoying pizza that looked appealing, so we might return to give that a try. However, I think I’ll likely stick with their tavern fare, though a menu update wouldn’t hurt.

We ordered takeout, which included an 18-inch margherita pizza and an 8-piece BBQ wings, totaling just under $39. The wings were decent, with a good size, although some pieces were larger than others. However, the dipping sauce was watery and tasteless. Unfortunately, the pizza was disappointing. It was undercooked and often fell apart, with the tomatoes randomly tossed on top, causing them to slide off when we picked up a slice. The cheese was greasy and poorly applied. For some reason, this place charges like it's a fine dining restaurant, but it really feels more like an amateur bar trying to present itself as upscale.

Always an incredible experience! The food is fantastic, and it's conveniently located near most highways and shopping areas.
