They recently changed owners but kept the recipes for the pizza. Yea!!! S family friendly place to say the least. Please the a few frozen pizzas home with you.
After a visit to Suson Park we headed your way Double D's pizza for lunch!!! All I can say was everything was Delish!!! Things came out 1 at a time but that was ok as it was still Hot and good. We love getting different things and sharing!!! The Pepperoni Pizza (Hand Tossed) with their DD Pizza Cheese (it's not Provel) was so good. The French Dip on Garlic Cheese Bread with AuJus was one of the Best I have eaten recently!!! We have never ordered Calzone out!!! We did today and will order more in the future!! Yummy!!!!! Sausage/Mushroom We got your regular Toasted Ravioli and Salad to start which were your typical items.... Good but ordinary. It wasn't crowded and it looked like they remodeled since we were there during Covid. Staff were so friendly so if you are that way (Tesson Ferry) stop in and give them your Biz. Double D's Pizza
Really enjoyed the pizza. We had the meat lovers , whatever they call it. It was delicious. A thinner crust. Didn't taste the sauce that much. The cheese blend seemed like it had a queso feel/taste to it.... And it was wonderful.
First timer at Double D 's. Been driving by the place for months. Heard a few good things, so the wife and I went with my brother and sister in law on a Saturday evening to enjoy some pizza and salads. You enter the restaurant and order at a counter. They give you a number to take to a table. Not my preference, but it was very fast and efficient. The counter person/order taker was very friendly. We ordered a Bob 's pizza (bacon, hamburger, sausage and onion) and a couple of house salads my brother and his wife ordered the same. The food came out promptly. The small salads were big enough, fresh and tasty. The pies were also served promptly. The pizzas that we ordered were St. Louis thin style and they did not skimp on the ingredients. And, the pizza was very good tasting (not top 10, but certainly met the need). The problem, both pies were barely cut. It is common for the cheese to melt back together, but the crusts for each pizza was scored some, but not cut through. So, you had to pull the pieces apart and the toppings would slide right off. Difficult to eat. That was the only negative really. Points for being super nice folks. Sharpen that pizza cutter I guess.
After trying to decide what pizza we wanted we picked double ds. It isn't far from us in soco, but it isn't close either so we often forget about it. It is always good though. This truly family run business is consistent and delicious. We always get thin crust but one of these days I will try the thick. The boneless wings are more like hand breaded chicken strips and are so good. I love their house sauce but also the Thai chili so I often get them plain with the sauces on the side. Their salads are always fresh with plenty of toppings. We didn't get a calzone this time but they are so so good- meatball, pepperoni, and ricotta is my fave. Also, a non typical pizzeria app, cheese fries. They load a pizza pan with standard fries and then top it with mounds of their pizza cheese and put it through the over. Then they service it with a side of cheese sauce. These are hidden gem on their menu for sure. I can't forget to keep double ds in my mind so that we don't wait so long to go back next time.
