Legends At Diablo Creek - Concord

There's nothing quite like dining outdoors at the golf course on a pleasant summer day. The food is delicious and comes at a fantastic price.

What I always enjoy about the 19th hole at a golf course is the variety of food and the draft beer selection. After finishing our round of golf yesterday, the eight of us decided to have lunch there. The ordering process was the same as ever, with great options available for everyone. My husband and I both chose the ground beef taco salad. While the ingredients were somewhat Americanized—featuring romaine lettuce, picante sauce, corn kernels, and so on—they were still tasty. We paired our meals with Karl the Fog hazy IPA, which complemented our taco salads nicely.

After a round of golf, we decided to dine at Legend. You place your order at the counter, then find a table, and they'll bring your food to you. We chose to eat indoors because it was quite hot after golfing and we wanted the air conditioning. I ordered a Taco Salad to share with my husband. The lettuce was fresh, and it was packed with plenty of toppings. The taco shell was crispy and fresh as well. The price for the taco salad along with a fountain drink was over $20, which is a bit on the higher side. The service was decent, and the interior was clean. There are plenty of tables outside if you prefer to eat al fresco. This wasn’t our first time at Legends; it used to be better, but it's still a solid choice.

This place is a gem. If you're on the range or the course it is a good place to get food and drinks. Or, if you want to come to watch the game there are lots of TVs, good friendly crowds, and a fast and efficient service . The food is very good considering the prices. If you're a parent your kids eat free breakfast on the weekend which consists of eggs, toast and bacon or sausage. Very budget friendly compared to other parts of the East Bay like downtown Concord or Walnut Creek. The decor is a bit dated and probably needs to be refreshed some time soon but for now it works it's almost charming. The staff is all friendly and they do their work quickly and the regulars get to know each other which is nice.

Today my husband picked up lunch for me. He had been here and had the taco salad before and thought it was really good, so that it what he got for me. It was not good. All of the lettuce was white and cut from the core of the lettuce. This not what should be in an expensive salad! The rest of it was jack n the box- ish. 3 stars because maybe there is new guy in the kitchen.
