Vernon's Kuntry -b-que - Conroe

I eat here quite frequently, at least three times a week, and everything is delightful. However, the standout dish is the spicy chicken—it's truly the best I've ever had. The service from the staff is also excellent, especially Lana, who is particularly attentive.

Loaded potato is the best I had in the area! Large portion size. More than happy to give extra sour cream and cheese. The only thing I have to say is that their side choices are plentiful; but the Mac n cheese and green beans lack taste (maybe only me, therefore I still have 5 stars). Leave this review on a positive note their meats and sauces are killers!

Excellent country BBQ place. Cozy, home town feeling place with indoor seating and an outside patio. Open playground area with toys to keep kids occupied. Delicious food with a wide variety of items beyond BBQ. Everything were had was great and our cashier/server/waitress was friendly, attentive, and accommodating even though clearly stretched pretty thin for the evening crowd. Impressive.

The Sliced Beef Sandwich had a generous portion of tender, pleasantly smokey, flavorful Brisket with onion and pickle slices. The Sausage Sandwich was peppery and moderately spicy with a nice smokiness on the house made Sausage. Their BBQ sauce is sweet, vinegary and thick and goes well with their meats. The Onion Rings were thin-sliced, crisply battered and not greasy at all. The feel of the place is that of the classic, East Texas, Q joint. The very welcoming staff made our first visit a good one and we WILL be back often.

Great place. Remember eating here 20 years ago before moving to Idaho. Still have amazing Bar-B-Q! Worth the drive. Great atmosphere and even better food and staff.
