I visited The Fleece despite seeing one negative review, and I'm so glad I did. The host was warm and informative, sharing some interesting history about the pub that dates back to 1820. The drinks were affordable, and the Bombardier was outstanding. If you're staying at Derwent Manor, this place is a gorgeous local spot just down the road. The locals were friendly and pleasant, and the winter garden offered beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
The place is located at the edge of the village, and it's a nice spot to enjoy a drink. However, they do not serve food. It is operated by an older couple.
Only a stranger for the first five minutes. . after and for many visits since to stop one of the most beautiful little places. warm and friendly. long it can stay and we will be back this afternoon thanks to many
Arrived to an empty bar with 5 other people after a lovely hike in the surrounding area. The Landlord did not make us feel welcome, actually didn’t say a word. Also it was ‘cash only’ at the bar, which may catch some out who visit. There are some beautiful views from pub at the rear, I will never return !
