Feedback gevenThe prices have risen a lot, but eating is not good enough to explain it, the host is not very welcoming
We have visited this restaurant several times for lunch and have never been disappointed. this is in the ground a man woman business, with the husband the very talented chef in the kitchen down and the woman the busy front of the house. the clientele are in the regular local businessmen at midday, although many customers come from the close of nizza. there is in the regular a very good plate of the day and a somewhat more expensive bark dish of the day, or a good à la carte menu. for example, today was the court of the day pintarde, and the bark was an entrecôte that we selected. it was one of the best entrecôte steaks that we have tried and very good value. the cook is proud of its supply with bark meat, and its sauces are delicious. the selection of weeping is wide for a restaurant this size, and even the pichet of the local rosé was good. this is one of these restaurants that they reluctantly check because they want to keep it for themselves (and of course the locals
Ordered 3 courses and coffee for both of us. the food could not owe. it was concerned that the truffles in the order would overwhelm, but each cure was faultless. I wanted to go back before we were flying home.
A super evening, very good service with all 16 tables reserved. a solid menu, happy all the things I like. delicious dishes. a minuscule negatiw, the garnel in the mousseline was not so easy to eat. a really nice evening.
I was too tired to cook and needed to eat, and eat well. I started with œufs en cocotte, sauce au ceps. Oh Lordy. So very VERY good. Keith had gravlaxx. The cure was very light, no trace of dill, he said it was good...but not as expected. I had a second starter, foie gras with mushrooms. Normally a beautiful slice of liver beautifully sautéed, this time not so good, the mushrooms weren’t hot, but the chef had generously added sublime slices of smoked duck breast, which were light years away from what one buys sous vide in the super markets. Keith loves the beef served here, but for a change he had filet mignon de pork. As usual excellent service and we left very happy.
