Prospector - Cooke City-Silver Gate

Bad customer service ever. only 3 tables at the whole place and we did not get any refills about our eating. the place smells. if they can see, they fool this place hits the mark. it looks funny and old west, but it's far from it. Do not eat chili my wife and I took 2 bites and could not finish it we ended up eating the crackers and going. we went to the end when most places are closed, so I hope they have more luck.

Dirty doesn’t begin to cover this place. If the filth on the floor, walls, and tables don’t run you away. Wait until you get styrofoam cups that they REUSE as well as plastic utensils that are still dirty because they, you guessed it, reuse them! We were driving through Yellowstone and had no other options for lunch but we should have just gone hungry. The food was dry and seemed like they had things previously cooked but just reheated them. Avoid the bathrooms at all costs. I can’t imagine what their kitchens look like if they can’t keep the main dining area clean. Gross gross gross

Extremely friendly and hospitable, family-run business. I am passing through town. I am a freelance photographer and filmmaker and I had an edit to finish on my laptop. I've been here for the last 8 hours straight. Had lunch and dinner here, while I watched snowmobilers and skiers come in and out throughout the day. All day long everyone who works here has been checking on me and making me feel comfortable. I live in a van- they let me plug in and gave me a place to park for the night. They even gave me some venison sticks. These people are wonderful and I love to see a family-owned establishment like this.

Food poisoning. Both me and my friend suffered forms of food poisoning shortly after eating at the establishment. The food was mediocre at best and the restaurant was fairly dirty and the wait staff was inattentive.

The health department needs to shut this place down. I’m not kidding. It smells like rotten sewage inside. Avoid at all costs.
