Rey's Mexican Grill - Cookeville

This is a great little Mexican place with fantastic food! I ordered the authentic tacos with al pastor meat and they were fabulous. Everything we ordered had good flavor and seasoning. The salsa is thick and just a little spicy but not too much.Great, speedy service as well as clean and colorful in the restaurant.

Rey’s Mexican Grill was great!! The margaritas is the best I have ever tried and they also have so many selections. I will return!

Rey's has become our favorite Mexican restaurant in Cookeville. They are always busy but never crowded. The food is as good as any you'll find. They have solid chips, salsa, queso, ground beef, and margaritas. Trust me when I say they will not let you down.

Under previous management, my husband and I stopped here a few times. It was good Mexican food, and margaritas were exceptional! In passing by, we noticed it had changed hands, and decided to try the new owners. While the margaritas are still very good, the food is lacking. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of rice so they substitute retried beans for me. There are NO beans just soupy sauce! Main selections are just okay. My husband says the rice is mediocre. Not terribly impressed with severs either tipped salsa a bit, and asked for napkins to clean it up, but attitude was less than understanding, and definitely not helpful. She was cleaning blinds, and paid no attention to the glare on her customers didn’t matter. Guess we put her out! Won’t be stopping there again.

Honestly, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. Whenever I am in this area of TN I have to stop.
