I normally go for seafood when on the coast, but was drawn to the the cordon blue Schnitzel...and not disappointed. A large portion, half of which will become tomorrow's lunch or dinner. My wife went with the grilled salmon and thought it was excellent. Two great dishes. We normally forgo dessert, but the freshly baked cakes in the display were too temping. My wife had the carrot cake. As an aficionado of good carrot cake, she thought it might be the best she has ever had. (And from her, that is a compliment! I had the chocolate peanut butter (gluten free cake, which was excellent, creamy...and would not have guessed it was GF. Great selection of import and local beers on tap. Okay, the music was dated, but we are old and so what the heck. Nice covered, heated outdoor seating, so our pup could join us. Overall, Adam is a great chef and baker. We liked the setting. Highly recommend Blue Heron.

What an incredible, one-of-a-kind culinary adventure nestled in the charming town of Coos Bay, Oregon! By sheer serendipity, we happened upon the enchanting Blue Haron Bistro during our leisurely drive. As a devoted fan of German cuisine, we couldn't resist the temptation to return for a delightful dinner. And oh, what a delight it was! The moment we stepped foot inside, we were captivated by the inviting atmosphere. The warm ambience and cozy surroundings instantly made us feel at ease. But it was the exquisite food that truly stole the show! Each dish was prepared with utmost perfection, leaving our taste buds dancing with joy. Our entire family relished every moment spent at the Blue Haron Bistro. From the friendly staff to the delectable food, everything surpassed our expectations. We left with a sense of contentment, already yearning for our next visit. Without a doubt, we eagerly anticipate our return to this extraordinary gem of a restaurant.
