(Roughly 6 booths and like 3 smaller tables) but it is best to book reservations ahead of time. We had soup, pork belly, side dishes, and more. Pork Belly seems too fatty and worth the taste/cost.? Most favorite dish is the kimchi seafood pancake, lots of flavor here.? The soup looks big, but there are big pork bones etc inside so look can be deceiving. Trying to get the waitress's attention is quite difficult since they are running around back and forth.? Cost per portion ratio of food is moderate, but for myself, I do not find it worth the cost and would make the food at home.Parking: Free parking spot in a Plaza area.
HAAN BBQ was my favorite restaurant but has the owner changed there? Due to Covid-19 I couldn't visit and returned after a long time. There are a total of 8 meat menus here, and if you order 2 servings, the soy bean paste stew comes out for free. On this day, I ordered No.1 the finest beef ribs and No. 8 pork marinated in sweet soy sauce at HAAN, but they said they couldn't give me soybean paste stew. The reason was that soybean paste stew is free when I order only numbers from 1 to 5 on the menu. It was so ridiculous. Menu No. 1 is $44, No. 8 is $22, so a total of $66. If I ordered No. 1 and No. 5, the total would be $67. I ordered a menu with $1 difference, and the stew is not even an expensive dish. Why they make that kind of rule? Even when grilling meat, the electric griddle gets hot too slowly so I had to keep grilling it over low heat, and the meat was really tough, like rubber. The No.8 pork marinated in sweet soy sauce seasoning was not seasoned enough, so it didn't feel juicy.Worst BBQ place in Vancouver area and I won’t go back there.
Tried this place for the first time last night. We made reservations, which I highly recommend. The food was really good, the serving sizes were ample and we loved our table top cooking. The service was a bit off had to flag down staff for drinks, more rice to order more food because we were never checked on. We also didn't get more rice when we ordered more meat and had to ask for it but maybe that's the norm? I just don't know. Anyway, it was good and I would go back in a heartbeat. We had 6 people, 2x2L beer and the whole bill was only just over $200, which I think is pretty good given what most places costs these days.
I went Haan with my sister today for lunch. They have a Lunch special for $20. I was surprised with all the dishes served. We ordered pork galbi special. There are Japchea noodle) and kimchi pancakes and 6 side dishes. All of them tastes good. Japchea was a bit salty. Tofu soup was enough for two people. We ordered veggie wrappers with extra charge but cannot be missed. It served good amount of lettuce and they were fresh. I will be back for Bulgogi special to try on my next day off. Too bad special menu is only for weekdays lunch.
Great food options and quick service, the store itself is a bit small can have a long wait during busy hours (evenings). Plenty of parking at a good location. Very affordable with good serving sizes. Kimchi pancakes were a favorite.
