Ikea Coquitlam

This location has been out of mac and cheese for several weeks, which is quite disappointing. I’m surprised they don’t inform customers earlier in line and only mention it at the end when you’re about to order. Since they were out, I decided to order several sides of meatballs instead, as my kids enjoy those. What really frustrated me was when a staff member rushed from the kitchen to the cashier to emphasize that I had multiple orders of meatballs. I felt treated like a common thief, as if I might take the meatballs without paying. They’re only $2.50 per side, so it’s not going to put a dent in my wallet. Overall, this is a poor experience, IKEA.

I consistently enjoy a clean and friendly experience at this location. The food is fresh, and the staff effectively handles the flow of customers. Although it may appear busy, it never feels overcrowded, if you catch my drift. And you absolutely have to try those meatballs!

The food is consistently tasty and fairly priced, provided it hasn't been left under the warmer for too long.

One of my go-to spots for a quick meal. The food is consistently unique, affordable, and tasty. My usual order is the Swedish Meatballs or Haddock and Chips to take home, and I sometimes indulge in dessert and coffee, which is complimentary with an IKEA family card. If I'm still in the mood for more, I’ll head downstairs to the bistro for a veggie hotdog combo and a drink, which only costs about $1 to $2. I love combining the Nordic lemon fruit water with the sparkling pear drink, and the refills are free as well. As for parking, it can get quite busy on weekends, but you can usually find a spot within 5 to 7 minutes since there's plenty of space.

Value for Money: 5/5 – You really can't ask for much more from IKEA's restaurant or café. The veggie hot dogs were tasty, and the coffee was served hot and surprisingly good, especially considering it’s not a specialized coffee shop or roaster. The only drawback I noticed was the frozen yogurt; it tasted more like a standard vanilla cone. I didn't mind it, but a friend of mine, who really loves frozen yogurt, was quite disappointed.
