Lucky Gate Chinese Restaurant

They never wash their vegetables!!!! We have been always ordering from this place. Then we would end up with severe diarrheas. I noticed that there were tiny fruit flies floating in the sea food and cabbage soup. The vegetables still got dirt on from the fried noodle and soup noodle dishes!!!!! Will never go back there again!!!

The adventure of finding the best hole in the wall resto continues and this unfortunately don’t measure up. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but there really wasn’t any flavours outside of salt and pepper. Don’t expect service as there usually is only one server.

Really happy to see that Lucky Gate is still going strong. Have come here several times with family over the years and it’s always pretty solid every time we are back. The portions are very generous and they have pretty great pricing for what you get. I recommend the noodles as they are made fresh and although you may not get to see them working on pulling the noodles live anymore (maybe? they still taste great!I believe the place is still family run and the service seemed like it could be a bit shorter in staff but our food still came out pretty quickly.Parking can be a bit tough but there’s definitely options around if you’re willing to walk a block down or from across the street.

The food was fine and portions were generous. BUT service was so poor. We arrived at 1105am and was asked to wait outside so the server could finish vacuuming. Then the server asked me to move my kids because they were sitting where she planned to serve the food to the table. At the time, most of my family were already seated and everyone had to get up and move. I was curious to know why she HAD to serve the food at THAT specific spot??? Also, my mom ordered and had said something incorrectly and the server(only one there) rudely answered my mom adding she had pronounced a word wrong and that it could confuse her.This place has been around for long and I used to come with my parents as a kid. Not sure if it’s still the same owner but I’ll never go back again. Even if the food was decent, we don’t deserve that kind of poor service.

First time visiting here and I must say that the portions are pretty big and filling. Came with our relatives and can say that we left with a food coma lol. Food tasted great too. If you like spicy food, then you should definitely come here as they have a lot of really tasty spicy options.Decor is rather dated and they could do with some updated furniture and table coverings and interior decorations, but that's about it.Come here with an empty stomach and you'll be leaving here plump full.
