The ingredients were good and there was a genuine attempt to plate the meals with garnish and some elevation for visual appreciation. We ordered the goats cheese for entree which was heated and placed on a crouton with and accompanying light salad. Our dessert once again was a creme brulee. This was much creamier than a previous restaurant experience and the tap tap caramalisation was again evident. The cheese platter was also selected. There must be something about splashing on the lettuce to accompany the cheese. I might suggest throwing on some grapes, dried fruit and nuts instead of lettuce. I asked the waiter this time to help me identify the three cheeses...the waiter responded and informed me that the soft cheese was indeed brie. In addition, a healthier serve of cheese made from lamb (bah bah) X 2. I also received extra bread this time to accompany the cheese and lettuce platter. Suggest you choose wine to accompany your meal. If I could allocate half stars, La Caroline sits at 3.5 stars. They do need to be mindful that not everyone eats bacon and pork so they need to provide other options for their 3 course menu. As I understand it, La Caroline was probably this pick of the restaurants in and around Villers and Corbie, so get there first if the Aussies are in town.
We have just dined here after the centenary of the battle for Villers Bretonneux nearby in WW1 . The set menu was delightful , the service convivial , the prices resonable , and a great way to celebrate the Australian French friendship . Like being invited to lunch at an old friends house
After being denied service at La Table d' Agathe (refer seperate review) we walked down the road and ate a very pleasant meal here
Fabulous menu reasonably priced. Food was delicious wait staff friendly attentive (not intrusive though). Highly recommended if near or passing the area.
The dining room is pleasant with light tones (grey and light beige) and a lot of light.Cool jazz vibes with a good audio quality for your ears.I went for the fish in the "Today's menu"The fish was lean and served with a light lemon sauce. On the side the dices steamed vegetables were nice and fresh and a little cup of rich potato mash will fill you enough.I got the Ile flottante for dessert and I was right: the cream was velvety and not overly sweet as it can often be the case and the egg whites was soft and light.Overall a pleasant place with a good food and a lovely service.
