We found the atmosphere to be pleasant and there was a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We were able to watch a rugby match and a golf game on the numerous televisions in the bar. Overall, it was a nice evening, although the drinks were a bit pricey. It's important to keep in mind that we were at a hotel, after all!
Banks Bar, located in the Radisson Little Island in Cork, was a disappointing experience for me. I ordered the Warm Clonakilty Pudding salad with hazelnut dressing for my starter. Although the dish looked nice, it tasted terrible aside from the Clonakilty pudding. The dressing was oily and lacked any hazelnut flavor. I can only imagine what happened in the kitchen with this dressing. For the main course, I enjoyed the Loughnane's Guinness and Leek Sausage over mashed potatoes, crispy onions, and a delicious red wine balsamic and thyme gravy. The service was a bit disorganized and slow, at one point I was asked if I was ready for dessert when my starter had not even arrived yet. Despite the pleasant and friendly staff, there was a sense of disorganization throughout my visit.
