Bakery 28 - Cornelius

Stopped in at Bakery 28 for the first time after dinner at the Harp Crown across the street this evening, 3 16 21. First of all, it smells heavenly when you walk through the door. It was around 5:30 when we arrived, and according to Google they close at 6, but they were still obviously working in the kitchen because the smells were fresh. The atmosphere is clean, fresh, and chic, and the cakes and desserts in the cases look absolutely astounding and irresistible. They have a large selection of vegan and gluten free options which my date was enthusiastic about. She ended up ordering a coconut gluten free cupcake, and I ordered one of the mini Girl Scout Peanut Butter cheesecakes (capped with part of a Girl Scout Tagalong, as well as a Key Lime tart. Both the cheesecake and the tart were scrumptious absolutely devine. I sampled my date 's cupcake and it was also delicious. Will plan to drop in again if we 're ever back in Cornelius.

Bakery 28 was recommended for a special cake and cookies. I had an excellent experience with Keli and the rest of the staff there. Clear communication, ease of transaction, and all items turned out better than we could have imagined! The Blush Red Velvet was delicious! Cookies were perfect...not dry or crumbly. Not to mention all were decorated exactly as we envisioned! The young man we celebrated is now serving our country. I appreciate Bakery 28's assistance with this!

This bakery is charming and spotless, offering a wide range of desserts, pastries, and coffee. They have indoor seating, with options for vegan and gluten-free desserts, as well as tasty breakfast croissants and a variety of coffee choices. I tried the chocolate mousse, breakfast croissant, and oat milk latte, all of which were fantastic. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by.
