Piper's Tavern At Lake Norman

I love the Galloway Hooker. The new owners changed the name. I have said from the locals that food is much less desirable than before. With her recommendation. I want to drink, not eat.

I wanted to eat and drink with my wife last night. they were busy so they said it was 10 minutes to sit. we found two sitting at the bar, so we sat there and ordered two glasses zinfandel. the bare that was nice told us that she knew nothing about wein and that she had no idea what kind of wein they had. we said it was about two and cokes. She smiled and said I could. After 10 minutes she was looking back and said they had no one around at all. we went back to cry and told her to give us red. she has two glasses with about half of what they should and admitted that she does not even work there and she only helps one friend. then we ordered a shrimp appetizer. 45 minutes later we asked if she could check it and she came back 5 minutes later with what looked like a bowl with 6 garnels in it. the taste was only average and so we decided to go somewhere else for a escape. we were often there when it was galway and everything was great. the cook always came to ask everyone how you were eating and the drinks were great. Not sure what is going on with the new owners, but to look around everyone seemed overwhelmed. disappointed.

Had a nice Thursday dinner with $5 draft Guinness. Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash were delicious. The onion soup was good.. but VERY salty. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was trivia night. It was a fun evening!

The food in Pipers Tavern am Normansee is excellent and the staff is friendly and fast! Love the new menu! I only had the best 'Shrimp and Grits' here and recommend the Reuben Sandwich! Trivia on Thursday evening was a great time! Thank you for a fun family night outside! A
