The rooms are dirty (I have 2 suits) not a cheap rooms. 3. Phone in the room is not working (no way to complain to the desk without going down) 4. Soap dispenser is broken (from 3 dispensers only 1 is working, the conditioner) 5. No extra pillows for sofa beds (if you check in late you will have to wait for the morning to get anything) 6. No water pressure in the bathrooms. 7. No manager In charge at 3pm I can keep go on and on but I don’t want to waste my time in my vacation. Now I’m sure that I will receive the generic reply of how much they are sorry and invite me to give them a second chance, but no way! Do yourself a favor and book other hotels, for that price you will get much better value for your money at other hotels around. (Talking from experience)
A fairly decent budget hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city that is Barcelona. There are metro stations within 10 20mins walk which makes this hotel attractive to those who want some peace and quiet. The hotel has a good restaurant serving the usual burgers and pizzas. There is a pool right by the restaurant which makes it ideal for the kids to play as the parents grab a bite while still being able to keep an eye on the kids. The rooms were comfortable but a bit congested if you have a family. The decor is very eclectic and this is one of the few hotels without a (formal) reception or a front desk everything is very informal and managed using latest technology which made it easy and efficient. There is a (paid) parking underground for those who drive into Barcelona.
Child friendly. What looked like was that the morning team didn’t love their jobs. Especially the F&B crew. Further staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were okay. I only think it is time to fix the showers or bathrooms as they had some mold and looked dated at some spots and even after noticing it to the “front desk/management staff” we saw that not everything was and could be handled. But they tried. My kids had an amazing stay, we love Rituals so that was an plus . Everyday we came back in an tidied bed. Staff looked casual, I only did miss an old school front desk. It can be overwhelming having 20 people at the table and you trying to work and help everybody and everyone can see or hear your “personal” business. If we take an hotel next time we probably will come back again.
We stayed here for a week at the end of August and found the hotel to be pretty good. The breakfast was great with lots of choice, although there was often a queue for coffee! We ate in the restaurant in the evening once or twice and found the service to be very good indeed particularly one evening when our young daughter choked on her food, and we were immediately surrounded by staff offering assistance and bringing water etc we were very grateful for their attentiveness. The pool is indeed very deep, with no shallow end, and this was a little off putting when you have very young children, but there were floats and lifejackets etc on offer for everyone to use, which made it a little less scary. The pool being open till 10pm was a lovely perk, a swim before bed was very welcome indeed after a long, hot day of walking! There are large shopping centres and metro stations nearby, and the hotel is particularly well situated if visiting Montserrat (which I highly recommend! The room cleaning could have been a little better, with rubbish not always removed, and any glasses or leftover room service never taken away so we had to just take glasses and rubbish downstairs ourselves. We also often didn't have the bedding changed even though it had been spilled on. But we found the room to be generally clean and didn't have any of the major issues with dirty rooms that others have described. We didn't have any problems with the air con either even though it was extremely hot when we were there. I was very worried when I read some reviews about thefts at the hotel, after we'd booked it, but we at no point felt that we or our belongings were unsafe within the confines of the hotel. The lobby was a great fun place for our children, with rubber masks to try on which were very much enjoyed! Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Novotel is well known for being a good hotel at affordable prices. We stayed here for 2 nights. The Staff were friendly, The Rooms were good sizes, bathroom was nice. Wifi in Rooms is a Bonus with satellite TV and a sofa bed. If there was a Gym that would of been Amazing, but fortunately there is a Pool. Sadly, it was closed when we were there due to the season (Which I was not happy about) Overall its a good hotel, the downside is the location. Its not the Best and its not the Worst. There is a Metro Station 5 minutes walk, once your there about 8 stops to Barcelona central. If there was nearby restaurants (Apart from tapas) and nearby supermarket then I would have no complaints about locations. Overall Above average experience.
