Thali Of India - Corning

Had a below average and very overwhelming experience at this place. It was a very busy Saturday night and hopefully this is a one off experience and is better when less crowded. We basically had to fend a table and chairs for ourselves, remind the staff to clean it for us (and the cleaning didn't help). And we were given a notepad to write our own orders down because they were so short staffed. Food was oily and not great tasting. We ordered the dal tadka, paneer kadai and bread basket. It was average at best. The atmosphere was suffocating given the number of people and even more just standing around our table waiting for us to leave so they can sit. And the groups that were there were very loud, so loud that we could hear them in our car parked across the street! This place definitely seem to have a lot of demand since it was busy, but our experience was not good given the crowd, cleanliness and staff shortage.

I ordered a vegetable thali for my dinner. It’s fresh and tasty. Repeated again on the following day at lunch. The best Indian cuisine restaurant in Corning town.

Taste wasn’t great and the restaurant wasn’t clean (very unhygienic)! They did not even ask/offer water!

Take it from me, growing up I lived on the East Coast of South Africa for four years. It's a beautiful part of the world that happens to have a large Indian population, and I was proud to call it my home. In those four years between restaurants and eating with family friends, I know how good Indian food can be. Eating at Thali of India felt like going back home. The portions are generous, the flavor authentic, and the ingredients fresh. You can tell that every part of the meal was made with great care. My wife and I ate here as part of a vacation, and we are amazed at the quality, service, and value of the meal. We've eaten in Indian restaurants in both Boston and New York city, and I can confidently say that this is some of the best Indian food you can get on the East Coast. I would highly recommend eating Thali of India, and I hope my wife and I find ourselves in Corning again soon to eat here again.

Love this restaurant! I have been here many times and eaten multiple different dishes and the food is always absolutely delicious! The staff is kind and friendly. The food always comes out promptly without delays. I hope to come here for many years to come! Excellent job Thali of India!
