The Balancing Eel

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years while coming to St. Ives. The cod, chips, and mushy peas are excellent and I highly recommend them as a takeout option.

The service at the restaurant was extremely slow during Friday lunchtime, and orders were only cooked upon request. The portions were small, with a small order of chips priced at £2.70 and only filling a quarter of the box. The pea fritter, priced at £2.50, was also very small. While the fish was decent, it was not exceptional in any way. Overall, the meal was not good value for money.

The fish and chips were excellent. The cod was the best I've had in a long time. The service was good overall and all the food was freshly cooked. The restaurant is located just off the main street.

Fabulous place to get good quality fish and chips...we have lived in Cornwall 35 years and this fish an chips shop has been there all the times we have visited...yesterday another trip to St Ives and chips today only but cooked to perfection proper chips ...thanks we will return soon

The staff are friendly here and the food is good, yes it could be seen as expensive but where isn't!
