Quite simply the best food on the Lizard. Relaxing, chilled out atmosphere. We will definitely be regular visits on our annual visit to Cornwall. Looking forward to coming back again and again.
The new, young management team have apparently only been running 'Flora 's ' cafe since April '23 but boy have they done a good job. Lovely food being served in a gorgeous setting by brilliant staff. If we didn 't live a 6 hours ' car journey away, we 'd be regulars.....
Visited The Pantry this July after a recommendation from another restaurant and cannot overstate just how wonderfully we were received. The food is outstanding and the service even surpasses the food. We were greated by the chef/patron on arrival and after discussing the menu items he offered to create some dishes just for us. I am so glad we put our dinner items in his hands, just wonderful! Visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
Difficult to find, satnav tried to send us through a locked gate! Nice courtyard setting. Small menu, my plum and chocolate frangipani was tasty.
We visited Trelowarren last week. We have eaten there many times over previous years in its previous format. Wanting a light lunch we went to The Pantry attached to NYR . The place was buzzing and had a lively and interesting ambience. Each of us ordered ‘Plates’ from the menu as opposed to ‘Snacks’. The tortellini chosen by two of our party was really quite a small serving and came without any bread. We queried this with our waitress who said there would be an extra charge of 3.50 per head for bread ! When we expressed surprise her manner was ungracious bordering on truculent, and did nothing to make us feel better about the situation. The bruschetta was very tasty but also quite small. A bill of £56 for 4 people for four single small courses excluding drinks) struck us as very poor value for money. Altogether a disappointing experience at a place we used to love going to.
