Lovely country pub, fantastic food and great potion sizes, friendly staff and well priced, dogs were welcome, will definitely be going again.
A pint of prawns used to be a pint glass full of frozen 'on shell ' prawns Now apparently it is half a pint of shredded lettuce and half a pint of cold, soggy tasteless frozen shelled shrimp all covered in pink sauce from a 5 litre plastic tub like an oversized bucket of 1960 's prawn cocktail. 'Dirty fries ' seems to be an excuse for half size portions on a bed of chips and whether it 's the curry , chilli or whatever , it could all be from the same tub overall we had a VERY VERY disappointing meal like school dinners from the 1970 's. Pub was crowded so maybe we were unlucky but it won 't be for us again
Popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a family drink, the general feeling was quite good with a fair few people in . However, there was no Tribute ale which was a surprise considering it's a local ale and the pub is a St Austell brewery, also there was no Shiraz wine. A Malbec was the only alternative offered. A bit disappointed to say the least. As locals we will probably give this place a swerve for a while. You tend to go to places where you can get good choices and compare various wines and beers, but unfortunately on this occasion it did not happen.
My family of eight recently enjoyed the best homemade roast dinner at this restaurant. The staff was lovely and the roast was delicious.
