You place your order and pay at the register, serve yourself drinks and refills from a soda machine, while the staff brings your food to the table. It’s reminiscent of a Sizzler in that aspect. You don’t have to worry about leaving a 20% tip at the end; just a few dollars on the table for the servers is perfectly fine.
If you're looking for a more casual experience than the upscale Shogun restaurant, head over to their sister spot, Shogun Kitchen! You can enjoy all the big flavors without the hefty prices. I've eaten here frequently, especially on those nights when I’m just lounging on the couch and craving sushi. I’ve also tried their teriyaki, and it’s just as delicious. They offer a variety of combo meals and weekly specials, making it both quick and convenient. I once hosted a gathering of about 10 people, and the food arrived in a timely manner. You can either go upstairs to place your order or give them a call. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, and there's plenty of space for dining.
I used to really enjoy this place, but today was a frustrating experience. They charged my debit card twice. I ordered an appetizer that never arrived, and my sushi rolls took 40 minutes to come out, arriving after all the other food that was ordered after me. When they finally did arrive, the rolls were rushed and poorly made; they fell apart as soon as I tried to pick them up. When I asked for a refund, the indifferent waitress simply said, "Oh, I gave the stuffed jalapenos to another table." Overall, the service was terrible, the sushi was poorly prepared, and the staff seemed incompetent. The only redeeming item on the menu is the yaki udon noodles—definitely worth getting to-go.
