Astor - Corpus Christi

Perhaps it was an off night in the kitchen. The service was decent, and the food tasted good. However, there was a fire on the grill which resulted in the steak plate we had ordered being unavailable, and we were not informed until after receiving our food. The steak that we did get was undercooked in the middle. The butter for the baked potato tasted off. A side dish had to be sent back because of a mushroom cup. Although the staff offered to replace it, the customer declined.

This must be one of Corpus Christi's best kept secrets, so I'll share it. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and phenomenal. Gloria was our server and she took great care of us, so be sure to ask for her. We were greeted by multiple employees who made us feel like we were not just customers, but also family. We were quickly seated and attended to by the fabulous and entertaining Gloria. We were surprised at how quiet the restaurant was despite the presence of multiple groups. After placing our order, we were served a delicious salad with crispy, buttery croutons and a special tangy dressing. We decided to try one of their specials, a flounder filet with crab meat and a choice of side. The flounder was cooked to perfection and simply melted in our mouths. Even a member of our group who didn't like seafood was impressed. Gloria recommended that we come back on Sunday for their homemade turkey dressing special, and we think we might just take her up on that offer.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. They made the decision to change my order without consulting me, resulting in me being charged for a larger, different cut of steak than what I originally requested. The steak was overcooked and very tough. On the positive side, the waiter was fantastic - a very pleasant young man. However, the manager was rude and unhelpful. I will not be returning to this restaurant and would suggest trying a different steakhouse instead.

We just moved into the opposite and wanted to try a steak place because we are in Texas and everyone. by far the worst place I've ever been. the service was so slow, and there were only a few other tables. that was terrible. my man said it was the worst steak he ever had. I ordered medium rare, the half of my steaks was almost blue. the salat was devastated, nothing seemed fresh, and the place was rough. super disappointed and they accused us.

Always delicious food and great service. Grilled Chicken Bellaire plate was delicious with fresh avocado ?. The soup is always delicious and a great starter. Don't forget appetizer, fried mushrooms for me...
