Ordering was quick due to the two cashes with one being cashless. It’s located in the CAMP mall and getting your boba and strolling through the stores is a must.Ordered a matcha strawberry and what a great combo this was. I recommend not mixing this and savouring the different layers as you sip. I took mine with oat milk which cuts the sweetness to the perfect level. My second drink was the horchata and the trick with this is to let the ice melt a little to get the perfect balance of sweetness.Naturally I signed up for Boba Guys rewards program cause I will be coming back often.Dietary restrictions: Non dairy available
We were in the area and wanted to try out this boba tea spot. The location itself is open-air and matches the vibe of The Camp, which is a refreshing change from the usual decor of other boba tea shops. You have the option of either ordering from the kiosk or ordering at the counter. The menu itself is extensive and they have a lot of signature drinks. My husband and I ordered the Hojicha Latte with almond milk and boba to share. The Hojicha flavor as strong but it paired well with the neutral taste of the almond milk. The boba was warm and cooked well. We give the drink an 8 out of 10.When we are back in Costa Mesa, we will definitely come back and try out their other flavors.
Let's start this review with, I LOVE Boba Guys. Ever since I went to my first one in NorCal and fell in love with their drinks, I follow their social media pretty closely because their start story and their brand collabs are great. So obviously when one opened closer to me, I was stoked. I came to this location and parking was easy enough. There's a ton of parking for this plaza and just a small walk through the walkways to get to where Boba Guys is located on the corner. They have a self order kiosk and then also a register. No line on a Sunday afternoon. No one was at the register but there's a bell you can ring to get someone. I know what drinks I want to I went to the kiosk. I placed my order and waited about 10 minutes for my drinks. They have oat milk options for those who are lactose intolerant. No extra cost either to change to Oatly oat milk! Big win. Now you must be wondering, why only 3 stars when it seems to be an all positive review so far? Well, 2 stars off because the milk teas I got were really weak in tea flavor. Which is never the case at other locations. Another negative was that the boba balls were too soft and slightly slimey, also usually not the case. I generally do most of my drinks here at 50% sweetness here but my tie Guan Ying oolong felt way sweeter than normal. Here's the drinks I got and the ratings I would give each:6/10 Espresso Milk Tea oat milk6/10 Espresso Milk tea half half strauss1/10 Tie Guan Yin oolong Tea oat milk7/10 Dirty Chai latte5/10 Chai coffee cloud9/10 Dirty banana milk I'm not 100% sure I would come back to this Boba Guys location. There is so much boba shops here that I think this Boba Guys needs to step it up. Perhaps they just had an off day.
I was really excited to know there was a Boba Guys in the area since I thought it was only in Norcal! Boba Guys is located is a super cute, camp aesthetic plaza. The business itself is more of an order and pick up kind of place since there's no tables/chairs to hang out at (there's only 2-3 chairs at least). With that being said, there are many seats around the plaza to hang out at. They have a pretty diverse menu. You can order at the kiosk or at the register.Horchata: This definitely tasted like Horchata. I would recommend if this is your cup of tea! Ube Latte: This drink is so aesthetically pleasing, haha. It requires a really good mix. It's pretty good, but it also isn't the best thing I've had. The pearls for both drinks were cooked perfectly. Not hard and not too soft, but just a great texture and taste overall. I have heard the Strawberry Matcha is really good if you are needing a flavor to try. Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I were only in the area and we don't live as close as we want to try it often, but I would definitely visit again to try more flavors from the menu.
My husband just picked up two boba there, and one of them has 0 boba in it, and he did not say no baba. I tried to call the shop for assistance, but I couldn't find their number on Google. Boba tea has no boba in it? So what's the point?!
