Catalina Fish Kitchen - Costa Mesa

We really enjoyed this restaurant. My son loved his meal which they happily accommodated his request since he's a picky eater. He enjoyed his quesadillas, one cheese and one chicken and cheese. He couldn't finish them all because they were large. My husband and I wanted to try a variety of tacos so we ordered the Smoked Pecan Ono, the Mahi Mahi, and the tiger shrimp tacos, all were fantastic. Our favorite was hands downs the Ono, the pecan smoked flavor was so good. The staff were very friendly and they had parking which is a huge plus once you've paid for parking all day. Great place to eat and a large selection to choose from. You will find something for everyone.

The rice that accompanied the mahi was overly watery and mushy. The mahi itself was cooked perfectly, but the vegetables were soft and seemed overcooked, lacking freshness. However, there is a great variety of fish on the menu. I plan to give it another try next week. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.

Fantastic spot for seafood! I absolutely love the crab cakes and smoked Ono. Their tartar sauce and cocktail sauce are both top-notch—definitely 5 stars! So delicious! Food: 5/5

I got the baja battered fish tacos and they were mediocre. The jasmine rice was also cold and mushy. The shrimp cocktail came late and in a syrofoam box.The best part of the meal was the soda and jalapenosFood: 1/5

We found this gem of a restaurant after surfing the morning at the beach in Newport Beach... We each ordered a couple tacos and had the clam chowder. We didn't get all the tacos but we truly enjoyed the lobster, bay scallops, and swordfish. I can't express how much we enjoyed lunch. The atmosphere is great, too. I'll be going here everyone we're in town.
