Niko Niko Sushi - Costa Mesa

Nope, never ever again! This place is a disgrace to the Niko Niko name.I have been going to Niko Niko in Costa Mesa since the very beginning. Moved around California over the last 2 decades and have never been to this location. Currently, we go to the Burbank one which has been consistently 5/5 since we discovered it 7 years ago.I went to another location in Irvine and it was also as good as I remembered but this one makes grocery store sushi feel like a fine dining experience!We were in the area, hungry and exhausted so we just wanted something reliable. Easiest solution was to just call Niko Niko to pick up some rolls we knew and trusted. We realized we picked up the bootleg edition of Niko Niko once we opened the boxes.If you are looking for rice heavy rolls that look like they've been waiting all day to be served, this is your spot! On top of that, there was a little gift we found on one of the rolls. Can't tell if it was a very long eye lash, beard hair or idk? I know there are levels to sushi restaurants out there but how dare they represent Niko Niko like that. Lesson learned, not all Niko Nikos are built the same!Gave it 2 stars because parking was a breeze.

They say they close at 10pm and yet arriving near 9pm were turned away. Told them it says they close at 10 and the lady was rude and simply said the kitchen was closed. At that point just close at 9pm if you want to end early.

Love this place! Nice service and delicious food. My favorite is Baked Spicy Lobster Roll, so yumm!

It saddens me to write this since I used to be a huge supporter of Niko Niko Sushi... In my recent visit I was very disappointed that the sushi has drastically dropped in quality. There was almost no fish in the roll and it was filled with rice and fried onion. I also got a Philly roll and there was the smallest amount of salmon inside. Taste was not the same. AND I FOUND A SMALL PIECE OF HAIR ON MY ROLL. It's disappointing to witness how much the quality has dropped. Unfortunately will not be going back!
