Costa - Cotswold

The staff at this Costa branch are wonderful and always make me feel right at home. I have made it my go-to coffee shop because of their warm hospitality.

The restroom and toilets at this restaurant are extremely dirty. The toilet brush was visibly dirty and covered in feces and used tissue, which was disgusting. It was disappointing because the staff were very friendly and the drinks were good.

We popped in for a quick coffee and wished we had gone somewhere else. The two staff couldn't be bothered to wash the cups so we drank from the disposable take out cups. I had to return the cappuccino as it was all froth and no liquid. It summed up the attitude of the disinterested staff anything will do.

Do not go here if after 1630, as the staff are definitely in going home mode, and everything has been cleaned, which is nice and hygienic, but then they are then reluctant to serve as would need to reclean. Was there on Monday, at 1640, and still had food that you could buy to be heated, but this seriously annoyed the staff, infact the whole idea of service upset the staff, and even though there was a queue, the lady was most unhappy, and really wanted to continue her cleaning, and only reluctantly started to help the other person serving, when the queue became very long. It says you are open until 1800, maybe the staff need to be aware, this means serving customers, in an affable manner, until shop closing time.

My family and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, June 26th. Unfortunately, I was shocked by the dirty state of the toilets. The toilet tissue holder was broken and there was tissue scattered all over the floor, with piles of tissue in the corner. Additionally, there was no soap available in the toilets. When I asked a member of staff for soap, they informed me that there was none. Eventually, after persisting, I was allowed to use a staff sink in the preparation area with soap. This level of mismanagement reflects poorly on the establishment and should be addressed by the management. The cafe was not busy at the time, so there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience and believe changes need to be made to improve the quality of service at this restaurant.
