What a charming pub! It is very traditional. Full of characterful locals. Apparently it has been in the same ownership for 32years. Food isn’t served all the time only at the weekends at time of writing this review. The drinks are good quality and excellent value for money. We always pop in there for a pint and chat with the locals when visiting Cirencester. Thank you for your hospitality.
What an absolute gem of a pub, went there to watch the England game after ringing a few days earlier to see if they were showing it. Phone enquiry was very friendly and the welcome on the day was even better, a local pub full of local people and even though we we were outsiders from the hotel up the road we were treated as locals by everyone. The following day we walked past on our way into Cirencester and Tina and co, who were sat outside, not only recognised us but remembered our names. This is the kind of pub you want as a local, so much so we are thinking of moving house so it can be our local.
We stopped in for lunch while on our journey. We ordered a cheese and ham sandwich, ham ploughman's with crisps, Diet Coke, and Guinness, which came out to £19. The "proper ham" was delicious. There was limited parking and the outside seating area was filled with smokers, but the staff were friendly.
I recently worked as a cleaner at this charming pub, and I must say, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. I hope to visit again soon to say hello. The pool table is in perfect condition, and the landlady is a lovely lady.
