The Trout Inn - Cotswold

My colleague and I were just out on business and fancied a beer. We went out of our way to get to The Trout, but I know the pub well and know Penny always has a good selection of draft ales on tap. The place was absolutely heaving, given this was a Tuesday I was surprised but shouldn't have been as I know how popular it is. Next time we call in we will bring our wives for a meal as well as drinks.

Ordered roast beef Sunday lunch, delivered on time. The meal itself was hot, comprised beef,Yorkshire pud, roasted potatoes and parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, horseradish and gravy, finished with homemade lemon meringue. Absolutely delicious and excellent service and value

My friend and I ordered a Sunday roast for takeaway and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and food. We expected foil dishes but received real plates in a cool bag, which kept the food hot on our half-hour drive home. My nut roast was one of the best I've ever had and we will definitely be returning. We also attended a Halloween event featuring ghost story telling and a supper, which was also well organized. The food was delicious and hot, and the storytelling was entertaining. Kudos to all the performers.

We had an excellent experience today having lunch by the riverside. We stumbled upon this restaurant while in the area and were taken care of very well. We felt safe throughout our visit. Thank you to all the staff for a great meal.

Drove for an hour to get to this venue.we have been there before so we were looking forward to lunch and a pint. First disappointment was there was no Guinness but I understand with these strange times we are in that's not always possible.We both ordered the Ploughman's. What arrived in an Aldi carrier bag was nothing like a Ploughman's that I would recognise. Plenty of bread, a large chunk of cheese and some lettuce leaves tomato, peppers and mandarin oranges. No onions or pickle. What a disappointment. The staff were exceptional no problem with them but the food.... dreadful!
