This place has no energy and lacks that special "je ne chest quoi! Each dish tastes the same and underwhelming. The owner is certainly not very appealing let alone friendly! The waiting staff are decent, but and try their best to make you feel appreciated in... these trying Covid times. Kerry is amazing! Always was an amazing server and knows the menu very well. Trust their suggestions!
This restaurant is perfect for family gatherings. They have a wide selection of dishes on the menu at very reasonable prices. If you're in the mood for a delicious steak, this is the place to go.
We did not make a reservation, so we initially sat at the bar and ordered Nachos. After moving to a table and ordering from the main menu (a burger and a hot turkey sandwich), we found that the burger was good, but the hot turkey was just okay. Upon receiving the bill, we were surprised to see that the nachos were priced the same as the main dishes. The portion size was disappointing, with only a few tortilla chips and a small sprinkle of cheese and paprika. The overall quality did not match the price.
Today we tried Jungle Jim's for lunch. It has been a couple of years since I have been due to the greasiness of the food and the high prices for what you get (Last time I ate there I got a Caesar salad with 6...shrimp on top for $18). However, I was pleasantly surprised at lunch today. I tried their soup and sandwich lunch special for $9 and change. You only get a choice of french onion or chili for the soup, and two choices of sandwich: BLT or bacon grilled cheese. I had the french onion and BLT. They were both really good. The french onion was surprisingly good, and they had enough bacon on the sandwich to taste, which doesn't always happen at restaurants. Another girl at the table had the chicken toquita and texmex rice. Both meals were good. The service was fine, but nothing to write home about. She came to check on us two times while our mouths were full as she walked by the table, not really stopping. She did a good job of trying to offer us desert and was pleasant, but clearly just doing her job. I recommend this particular lunch special, I'd go back for it as long as they lasted, but generally speaking, it's mostly deep-fried high-carb pup grub that is around $20 per person every time you go (the same as it is at all Jungle Jim's locations). One great thing I discovered today was they give a discount if you are a CAA member. This actually made an impact when lunch was actually only $10. It was a good experience.
