Touchwood Cafe - County Durham

We stopped here for breakfast and ordered eggs on sourdough with extra sausage and hash browns. There was a 30-minute wait for our food and when it arrived, the sausage was raw in the middle. The restaurant was busy with lots of staff running around, but not many orders were coming out. It was easier to pay than to make a complaint.

My friends and I visited Touchwood Cafe on Friday afternoon for afternoon tea and were blown away by the delicious scones and excellent service, ambience, and food. We were so impressed that we decided to return for brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. This is by far the best cafe I have ever been to - it is extremely well-managed, with a fantastic owner and staff. I highly recommend Touchwood Cafe to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Thank you for a wonderful time.

The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The soups and cakes we tried were absolutely delicious. It's a fantastic little spot located right in the center of town.

Great little spot with charm, loved the herb waffle, food was on point, service was fabulous, enjoyed a lovely coffee and got to know the locals.
