When we arrived (less than 10 min) they were waiting for us with champagne and a nice aperitif outside in front of a big fire. Really nice and romantic. Dinner was simple but good with local specialities like polenta with cheese, cold cuts and cheese, grilled meat and a local dessert. The restaurant is very cozy with funny decorations. The best came after dinner with dancing on the tables and lot’s of fun! Remind to come back by midnight like Cinderella since the gondola shuts down at 12 sharp!
This restaurant used to be great, sadly it is now average at best. Location and view is great. It is extremely busy so you need to book. Seating is on picnic benches that you will be squeezed onto with other people, not very comfortable. Service is unbelievably slow. Took us about 45 minutes to even get some water. Pizza was nice but not worth the wait or lack of service.
Visited Courmayeur from Chamonix and came here for lunch on the recommendation from our chalet in Chamonix. Happening place that was packed so I recommend reserving early on your ski day. Located at the top of the Maison Vieille chair lift. Typical Italian fare that was delicious all around and much cheaper than the on-hill places in France. Quick and efficient service with a smile!
Really surprised that this restaurant gets such good reviews. We headed from Chamonix to Courmayeur for a days skiing and were looking forward to a nice Italian lunch. At best it was average. Highlights were the 3€ glass of red. Low lights were the paper pre sealed cutlery/ bread and plastic sachets of Parmesan. My pizza was quite tasty but my husbands sausage and cheesy polenta left a lot to be desired. He also ordered a plate of ham and cheeses which came with the sadest olives! My son had some lamb ribs which were actually quite nice. We ate inside as although it was a sunny day it was 8 degrees. The décor at one time would have been trendy and cool as it is crammed with old ski paraphernalia and other assorted items hanging from every nook and cranky but to be honest it felt unclean and tired. Would suggest trying somewhere else.
Everyting about this restaurant is fabulous. The location, the decour, the service and lets not forget the amazing food.
