This place has undergone a revitalisation in the last few years. Since reinventing itself as a “market stall” venue rather than the inefficient pseudo self serve it was previously and updating its decor it is a welcome alternative. Barista coffee, a good bar and choices of pizza, pasta, burgers and more gives options for anytime of your skiing day. Situated at the intersection of four different lifts with indoor and outdoor areas as well as plenty of associated toilets it can be recommended.
Nice place to stop in for some really god pizza and a snack on the way to the upper mountain gondola.
Went for lunch on the sun terrace which was deserted. Ordered lunch and found the reason why. We ordered lasagne which was luke warm and tasteless and stogey with no discernible pasta or meat. The only good thing was the view.
This is the cafe at the top of the Checrouit 'bubble ' lift. Since I was here a year ago it has had a makeover and been transformed from the pretty grubby cafe that it was before into a bright and trendy new eating establishment offering lots of coffees, cakes, craft beers and then separate counters where specialist chefs make the seafood (well, fish chips), pizzas, burgers and kebabs. You pay at the main till then have to collect the different parts of your order from various counters, which is a bit of a pain but was easy to manage because somewhat perversely at what should have been the peak lunch rush at 1.30 it was half empty. I went with my 2 kids and between us we had 1 Fish Chips, 1 Big Burger and 1 Baby Burger. All were delicious probably only a euro or 2 over what I would consider good value, but certainly not a rip off. There weren 't many desserts on offer we had a couple of portions of the fruit kebabs with chocolate sauce. Again, at 5 euros each a bit pricey but not outrageous. So if not the prices, why so empty? It looks nice, it has some good views from the window seats and the food is great. It also has a table football and (I think) a Lego playroom up the stairs for younger kids, but we didn 't look too closely. Make the most of it before people cotton on and it gets too crowded or it goes bust.
