Harris Bar & Grill - Coventry

Went here last Friday night with my wife and another couple. Had the Prime Rib, best I ever had! The food was outstanding, the beer was cold and the service was great. They also had a band that night which was an added bonus. We'll be back!

This place has been here for many years, but has recently changed hands, closed for a time, and came back with some changes to the interior. A wall was removed to open up to the huge bar, paint brightened up the space, and the wait staff is very friendly and pleasant. With only 2 waitresses on and the owner doing his part to help out, the team rocked the large parties that filled in among the smaller tables that included children and an outdoor space. Our waitress, Jessie, kept apologizing for keeping us waiting, but it was all good as we watched the baseball game on the screens. We did ask for the basketball game, which we never saw, and Jessie kept apologizing that it wasn't up yet. Granted, it was very busy and we weren't upset. We ordered fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. The fish was a large, reasonable portion served with french fries and coleslaw. My husband said it was very tasty. I had a fried chicken sandwich which was definitely not what I expected. It was chicken tenders, no condiment, 2 small slices of tomato and a piece of lettuce. The roll was very good, and the sandwich was a pleasant surprise- delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy. The menu is basic bar foods, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and salads, and a few entree's. They also have nightly specials to choose from. This neighborhood bar and grill has become a go-to when time is short. Give it a chance as they work out the kinks and get back into the groove!

We went on a Sunday evening just to have a drink and a light meal and play a little Keno. It was just the right spot for that. There were very few people in the bar on the Sunday night which I hear is unusual but it was OK with us. We shared a pastrami sandwich which could've used a little bit more pastrami. And we shared an order of calamari which were delicious. The bartender was very kind and attentive and it was a nice evening.

The 1st. night it was great we chatted , Went again, Ok, Last night we went to Vanda had a very exotic dinner our drinks we're all vodka with a splash of cran, Excellent waiter Mark , Cook to order very fine dining our bill came to $109 left $133. We were coming from the Mall decided to stop in have a bite to eat a drink that was mostly all cran, So asked why our drink was weak, Quote the waitress said I'll give you both another shot, The bill came we we're charged $12.50 a piece when we hung Main Street pub everyone treated us with high respect our drinks we're $5.75 it was a stiff cocktail always for everyone as their owner barmaids treated their customers very well it was like a family there, This owner wouldn't even say Hello or ring up my Keno had to wait for someone to come out of the kitchen, Walking out young guys said to us, Didn't you come in the front door, What business is it what door we came in, We will never enter this place again, Rude !!!

More of a takeout customer these days but dine in experiences were always great. Friendly service, meals come out fairly quick. Food has always been good. Pricing is great for the portions that you get with the meals. Some of the dinners can be split up to share between 2-3 people. Would like to see the twice baked potato as an every day side!
