Ellen's Snowballs Old Fashioned Malts

Tonight I tried the fried catfish basket from Ellen's for the first time. I ordered it to go and soon as I walked in the restaurant to pick it up, I could smell oil that had been used too long. I brought the food food home to try. The fish was greasy, cooked in oil that had been used too long and perhaps the most overly salty food I have ever tried. The fries were way too salty and under-cooked. I put the basket in the trash and went and put the bag out. I was sick in a short amount of time after eating only a small portion of the food. In Ellen's defense, she was not there and there is always a big drop in quality in her absence. Lee Road is certainly not a culinary center, but this was the worst I have tried. It may have just been a bad night for the place, but I will never try catfish from there again. I understand that many have had better experiences there than I had tonight. I hope future experiences there prove to be better than what I ran into!
