Lone Pine Bistro - Cowes

We have been coming to the RSL for years when we get down to Phillip Island. The venue is well looked after and the service is great. Unfortunately the food is overpriced and average. $18 for fried chicken, and you get 4 mini drumsticks that are dry and unappealing. We were expecting more. The parma is $25 and was really average. If you are coming for a drink and to watch the footy, this place is good... otherwise spend your money else where

We enjoyed a really great meal last night. I had the rump and my partner had the chicken parma off the specials board. Big serves. What we loved the most was the friendly service, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The floor staff, the cashier, the kitchen and bar staff all smiling and happy. Thank you very much.

We went for dinner last Saturday night, as we have done many times before. Expectations are never high (this is pub type food, not high end gourmet), but usually we get a reasonable meal for the price. I ordered a steak- medium to well done. I could not get my knife into it, it was rock hard! I dragged a piece off but it was impossible to chew. I have never sent a meal back ever before but this was so bad I had to say something. The waitress explained that as I had ordered well done, that was what I got!! We asked for our money back as I didn't want another as I was quite upset. Another staff member returned, apologized and gave us a full refund for my meal which was satisfying. This is a very busy place because it is reasonably priced but that does not mean they should serve sub standard meals. We definitely won't be returning any time soon.

The Phillip Island RSL is a well oiled family restaurant. There is a play area for children and the meal service is quick.There are various meals available including seniors options.The meals are quite large and there is a lot of variety. We always eat at the Phillip Island RSL when we stay on the Island.

We ordered a parma and a roast. Both were good size and quite tasty.Service was good and our meals arrived very quickly. The dining area is quite large with plenty of seats.At $25 per meal the prices are OK for Phillip Island.Overall we enjoyed our meal here.
