The Carousel Bar Lounge Restaurant

Great atmosphere, good food, great drinks. Wish we got to sit at the carousel bar that turns but it was too busy. Mayne next time.

What a surprisingly interesting concept! In the middle of the restaurant there's a carousel with about 20 stools around it. They will all constantly rotate around a central carousel. It's slow enough not to make anyone feel dizzy but also fast enough to be noticeable to the casual eye. The bartenders are behind the bar with apparently no door to go in. We asked how they do it and we're given an explanation that doesn't seem likely but it was great to create ambience : Cocktail are extremely good. As usual, rich and tasty like per NOLA-style.

This is very touristy.... but a cool experience... it can get crazy to actually get to the bar... but once there drinks are good, staff was friendly.. we got seats from a friendly patron leaving had our drinks took pics and paid it fwd, by alerting a friendly person that we'd be leaving soon... .. Pay attention to body language and ppls drinks... and be ready LOL...

Lives up to the hype! It's quite a cool little spot and the bar actually does rotate. Decor fits the theme, and the live band area is sooo cool! The band when we visited sounded great too! It was too packed for us to sit at the bar but it was still a very cool spot to visit, and we got to see the pride parade pass outside the windows. There was only one hostess at the time and she was working her butt off keeping everyone happy while still being pleasant and professional. Good stuff!

If they're busy and you're not sitting at the bar, just leave. The bartenders will ignore you and not serve you. If they're busy, the drinks can be very inconsistent. I only know as the people that ordered 2 of the same drinks in front of me got 2 drinks that didn't look the same, they mentioned were completely different tasting. All together, rude staff!
