Both our meals were full of flavour, but the cheese plater was very un-impressive. My husband had the Saltbush lamb back strap, and I had a entree of quail and pickles. The service could have been a little better, majority of there staff were quiet young. Just need a bit more experience in clearing tables and coming to check on us when we wanted to order. But otherwise this restaraunt is family friendly, has a lovely view before the sun goes down and has well presented and flavoursome food.
The restaurant sits right on Lake Crackenback so has some great views. The food however doesn't match the views. A two course dinner was included as part of our accommodation package. We had the chef's special which was a rib eye fillet with a gravy on mash. Whilst it was cooked okay it lacked flavour. We split the second course - one entree and one dessert (can't remember what the entree was which probably says it all, the dessert was some chocolate thing with ice-cream? Can't remember much about that either, which is probably on me rather than the dish. The kids menu was a bit basic, with standard pasta,fish/chips,sausage/mash,pizza options, and very similar to the other restaurant on site which we had eaten at the night before so not much variety for the kids. Plus our primary school age children are a bit past this type of meal but it was going to cost more to get something from the main menu, so being a tight bottom (can't say the a r s e word) I made sure they stuck with the kids menu. The staff were helpful though and we managed to change the mash for chips. Overall the staff were friendly but not as attentive as they should have been, and we had to help ourselves to water top ups a few times. We also ordered a side dish of vegies which failed to appear. We also went to the full buffet breakfast as it was part of our accommodation package. This was okay but after five days I was looking for a bit of variety but it was the same stuff everyday. But what can you say? I love a buffet and managed to eat way more than I should have. My excuse was I needed the carbs for skiing all day. The truth is I love an buffet. So much bacon, so little time.
We have had dinner, which was below average for being so overpriced... main was well under done (raw), they had to be reminded about our drinks. Had to have another drink taken off the bill, they never brought. We were 1 of 2 tables in the whole restaurant. Went for "Happy hour" drinks which is completely limited and consist of 1 cocktail and not even a Shiraz (which they don't have right glasses for) and happy hour means only a couple $$ less then the full price e.g instead of $15 a cocktail it's $12 Their cocktail list is poor also, no classics and not a good range at all! We also had to wait 20 mins for our drinks, while she talk to staff and serviced other guess before making our drinks .... overall breakfast is well over priced and dinner and the bar have poor service, and are over priced for what it is
An amazing experience. Thanks Erin for going above and beyond we enjoyed our 5 year anniversary dinner
Our family of four enjoyed another wonderfiul dinning experience at Cuisine. We enjoyed the perect three couse meal accompanied by well priced wine. The staff were friendly and looked after every request. The views over the lake rounded of the perfect evening as we walked off the meal ( a little!) on the way back to our appartment. As always we will be back.
