Craigie Tavern

Tavern has been renovated and looks beautiful. the personal is very friendly. eating is great and expensive so they can enjoy it

The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and our waitress was efficient and friendly. However, I cannot recommend the midday senior meal we ordered. The leek and potato or pumpkin soup we had was decent, but the main dish of chicken with salad and chips was disappointing. The chicken dish consisted of a few pieces of chicken in a watery sauce with overwhelming breadcrumbs, which was not appetizing. The salad was sparse, with mostly spinach leaves, a few cherry tomatoes, and a couple slices of cucumber (missing from my husband's plate). The salad dressing was also unappealing. The bread was good and the chips were fine, but overall, none of us would recommend this dish to others.

We have been regulars at Craigie Tavern for years, enjoying a quiet drink, meal, and bet here. The bar staff is always friendly, the atmosphere inviting, and the meals are large, delicious, and reasonably priced. You can't go wrong with their chicken parmas and chicken carvings, and they have great daily specials.

The steak was almost a thinner than a minute steak and had more fat than meat on it. I asked for medium-sized rareness and was made good to a medicine. the sose tasted like gravur with pfeffer in it. the sweet was cooked perfectly, and the chips too. my beer was served in a cracked glass that I immediately returned. the red wine was warm. will go back in a hurry

After looking at the menu on their website, we decided to stop by for lunch. We ordered drinks at the bar and were served by a friendly and helpful young lady. We chose to sit in the restaurant, but were disappointed to find that the menu was completely different and the dishes we wanted were not available. It turns out that the menu on their website is three years old. It's a shame we left without eating, as the place was clean and tidy with great staff.
