I have received two different packages as gifts from my family. The steaks are terrible, tough and no flavor. Never again!
I have received these as a gift 2 times and I dont know how this company is in business. I would not waste money on them. The steaks are tiny and not walmart quality. Neither are the chicken breast or pork chops. The potatoes are nasty. The cheap little apple deserts are the only thing decent. You can buy all this stuff at the grocery for a third of the price
I'm just not impressed with the steaks. I've bought better steaks at my local Walmart. The burgers were nothing special either. This is the second time we've been gifted with Omaha Steaks. It had been years since the first gift. I was hoping they would be better the second time. They weren't. I hope I do not revieve this gift again .
First, it should be noted that this review is based on an online order from their website, not a specific store. I would think the meat would be the same tho. A co-worker raves about this meat. Always been too expensive to me. Recently my dad saw an ad for a special on their burgers made from ground steak. Normal price is $204 for 20 patties. So $10 apiece. I call that expensive for a 1/3 lb burger. The sale price was $79.99 for the same 20 patties. So down to $4 each. Four each of ground filet, brisket, sirloin, ribeye and chuck. So we ordered it and waited with great anticipation for them to arrive. When they did we opened the first box expecting to see fresh frozen pink meat. They were brown. I'd never seen brown ground patties before. When I freeze ground meat from my local grocery it stays pink. More disappoint came when trying them. Tried the ground ribeye. Tasted nothing like ribeye steak. Tasted like basic hamburger very much like I get at the grocery. Tried the brisket next. Same thing. While I don't think this meat was bad in any way, it certainly was not exceptional in flavor. I am glad we paid only the sale price which really wasn't even acceptable at $4 a 1/3 lb pattie. Had we of paid full price I would have been outraged and tried to get a refund. Based on the average quality of this meat I am not compelled to order anything else from them. It should be noted that this review is based on an online order from their website, not a specific store. I would think the meat would be the same though. Update: After seeing my review Omaha Steaks contacted me offering a gift card or refund. They apologized that their product did not meet our expectations. I felt they were very sincere in offering to take care of an unsatisfied customer.
