They are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 11am to 8pm. Come early cause they do sell out of stuff. The portions are huge. They even offer samples if it's your first time.
1st visit to Matthew's and I was excited to try it. I got there ~45 minutes before they closed and got a pulled pork sandwich and 3 ribs. I'm trying the ribs later, but the pulled pork was very good. The sauce is good to. Back to the pulled pork. Flavor to me was excellent. Nice smoke flavor but I can still taste the meat, which has a light and smooth pork flavor with no game to it. There was some fat in it, but I just removed it, no biggie. I wished I had gotten a pound of the pulled pork. I suspect the ribs will be excellent as well. Tomorrow, I'm going back for the jerk chicken and the smoked sausage. So excited. Also, the gentleman helping me was very polite. I'm giving the entire experience 5 stars, because there has been zero negatives with this experience. , will be a regular at Matthew's BBQ from now on. Glad I tried this place.
While visiting Navarre in FL, I searched non-commercial food places for us to try out. I was called to Matthew's. Even though this was an hour drive away for a food truck, the previous reviews made me believe this was going to be worth it, and I'm glad we made the trip. We arrived at a perfect time, when we had an opportunity to hear the family's story and many blessings over the years. As first-timers and upon arrival, we were offered prideful, free samples of the meats available on the menu today spare ribs, pulled pork, jerk chicken, smoked sausage and generous smidge of Mom's BBQ sauce... which they are looking to patent and should). While each sample tasted more amazing than the last, we landed on the jerk chicken and pulled pork not pictured, since wrapped in aluminum foil under the chicken) for our 2-meat combos which included two sides each $16/combo). The food was plentiful and legit the best BBQ meat we also have ever had, just as the others have said. The flavor was out of this world, and if we lived here, we would try to visit as often as we could. We chose sides of the cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad and fried okra. Out of those 4 selections, the beans and okra matched the high level of the meat. The others were good, but paled in comparison which probably isn't fair). When people say this is the best BBQ they've had in their life, they're NOT lying. When they say the Owner is exceptional, that's an understatement. Please consider gifting yourself the pleasure of visiting Matthew's. You won't regret it.
This is the best BBQ I've had in a long time! I've traveled all over the USA, and this little red truck can compete with Memphis BBQ! The smoked sausages were always my favorite, and these are incredible! The pulled pork is incredibly juicy and tender! And can we talk about the okra? I was never really a fan, but I could eat a lot of it here! The flavor balances perfectly between the broth and the saltiness. The potato salad is also rich and refreshing! These young folks really know what they're doing. Great job!
The bratwurst was tender and flavorful, and the pulled pork was equally tender with just the right balance of salty and sweet. I’m not usually a rib person, but they were so good that I had to order some. The sauce was amazing, with just enough heat to make you crave more! Remember the okra I mentioned? They were sold out! (No worries, though; a truck was on the way to deliver more.) The rest of the food was so good that we hardly waited. The coleslaw had a lovely little kick to it, and I must say, Mr. Matthews' recommendation of the potato salad did not disappoint! I also ordered the baked beans, and they were delicious! I'm so glad we stopped here. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
