I did request a late checkout when I checked in, yet today when I went to confirmIt The front desk person who's name I decided to take out bc I don't want anyone to get fired but )was rude, almost screamed at me about needing a new key she seemed anxious and stressed said they were short on rooms, so that got me anxious and scared her attitude really made me feel unwelcome so I may check out even early she said they didn't have enough rooms...even though at check in I requested a late checkout and it was in the system. I told her not to yell at me and she got upset. I would say the experience was positive except for this experience today. But most likely will not return at this hotel and stay at the four seasons since I've never experienced this at their hotels, I'mAll accord member and that's why I had chose fairmont. my Recommendation would be probably nicer and calmer front desk staff? Also check in not that smooth I waited thirty minutes they had one woman helping ppl so I had to ask someone to grab someone to check me in again I assume perhaps there r staffing issues with the front desk? But the location is great, rooms def need improvement first fairmont I've stayed in without minibar etc... so the rating is 3 as most fairmonts have all that.
If you like elevators that hardly work, the scent of moldy carpets, front desk staff that barley speak proper English and people screaming at 6 am in the hallways then this is the place for you! I would opt-out for a Holiday Inn next time we visit.
I lived in Boston for many years and always wanted to stay in this hotel after years of passing by it, and now I finally did! I have to say I had a fantastic and luxurious experience. The staff and room service was exceptional. I felt pampered every step of the way. One of my best experiences in a hotel in America, and the building is gorgeous! Beautiful classic interiors that exude that old Boston history and charm.
Give it 2 star hotel quality. Only thing that’s nice about this hotel is the lobby : Rooms are dirty and worn out. Daily cleaning only changes towels without any proper cleaning. AC noise is very loud. Front desk is not accommodating. Don’t expect and sound proof between rooms. You can hear people from next door talking : .
I didn 't feel like this hotel was worth the price and would not have chosen to stay here if my partner 's work didn 't pay for it. It is very frustrating to me that fancy hotels such as this one cost so much and provide nothing free of charge. The food that they do have available at their restaurant is ridiculously overpriced. For instance, an order of pancakes cost $24. No side, just pancakes. This is of course a preference, but I 'd much rather stay somewhere cheaper and get continental breakfast. The room itself – especially the bed – was nothing special and truly no different from what you 'd get at a cheaper hotel. Our bathroom door did not close properly and the mini fridge looked as though it 'd been gutted and had no shelving. There was also no microwave which I found disappointing. I understand that Fairmont assumes its clients are willing to pay a premium for food, but shouldn 't they be able to reheat leftovers? The positives include the gorgeous lobby, super convenient location, and very helpful staff – especially housekeeping. I also found it pretty neat that they allow pets and have a bougie pet-friendly menu.
