Was led to another restaurant. when we were there, it was closed! we told the taxi driver to take us to dinner everywhere. he brought us to the restaurant of marcellos kiki! it is the best in the city, although I am on several other restaurants. I've been covered by my host. we were there three times and I hope to go again today! it is absolutely top-notch! the owner and the personal are about and about the care for their customers. highly recommended!
Our group of 4 had heard of how good this restaurant, so we went to check it ourselves. very good choice! quite an extensive menu and very cheap. they had only beer, water or so, but the owner got us a bottle of wine to have dinner. we had the garnel mumien (do not know how to spell it on Spanish) monster size garnelen in cheese wrapped, smoked marlin and speck served with rice and garlic toast. we had two orders for the four of us and there was a lot of food. the owner introduced himself and asked us to come back.
The local population knows where good authentic food is available. so we connected the locals in this simple street restaurant and had a great meal. the server was friendly and helpful. everyone seemed to have a good time.
While staying at Vallarta Gardens (across the street), we watched a steady stream of locals stop at a restaurant. They were stopping at Mariscos El Kiki. Finally we decided to stop there for a family lunch with my party of 7. We were seated at...our table by Kiki himself who also helped us with describing the dishes on the menu. While we all enjoyed our selections ranging from tuna tacos to mahi mahi fillets, my son, who is very reserved, raved about the Marlin Burrito. He shared a taste with all of us and I have to agree it might be the best burrito I've ever tasted. Kiki's family helps out in the restaurant and its obvious he's a friend to many who stopped. Don't miss stopping here and trying the Marlin Burrito!
